WHAT'S YOUR PROJECT?

PROJECT TYPE: Interior - Hardwood

For maintenance or re-coat projects, be sure to read the MAINTENANCE / RECOAT INSTRUCTIONS section at the bottom of this page to see how that may alter the below steps.

STEP 1. PREP

It is important to prep your wood correctly before proceeding to the sanding and coating steps.

GENERAL ADVICE:
Rinse the timber thoroughly to ensure all the cleaner is removed and leave the surface to completely dry before proceeding to next step.

STEP 2. SAND

Prior to coating it is best to lightly sand the timber with 120 grit sand paper. Dust down ensuring a clean dust free surface.

STEP 3. COAT

Coating your wood in the right way will allow it to survive the test of time whilst looking great. There may be a number of products and options available to you in this step.

OIL BASED CLEAR FINISH

OR

ECO FRIENDLY QUICK DRYING WATER BASED CLEAR FINISH

OR

TRADITIONAL OIL BASED COLOURED FINISH

GENERAL ADVICE:
Do not sand between coats. Always apply coatings along the grain and never across.

MAINTENANCE / RE-COAT INSTRUCTIONS

IS YOUR PROJECT A MAINTENANCE OR RE-COAT? PLEASE READ THE ADDITIONAL INFORMATION BELOW*

Interior timber receive constant everyday abuse, but with periodic cleaning and refinishing, you can protect them and keep them looking their best.

STEP 1: Clean surface with a mild detergent and water solution. Rinse and allow to dry thoroughly.

STEP 2: Apply one or two coats of previously applied coating Cetol TSI Satin plus or  Cetol TFF or  Cetol HLSe,  allowing recommended product drying time in between coats.
